NANAIMO — Local Mounties are searching for a man with a history of breaching court orders.
Robert Scott Honeyman, 49, had warrants issued for his arrest after he failed to appear for a Thursday, April 10 court date to answer to numerous charges, including three counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
Honeyman is also facing charges of theft of a motor vehicle as well as a Motor Vehicle Act infraction for driving while prohibited, stemming from a Nov. 22, 2024 incident in Nanaimo.
His criminal history also contains violent crimes over the last three years.
He was found guilty on charges of assault and assaulting a peace officer from a December 2021 incident in Nanaimo.
Three months later, Honeyman was again charged with assault and was again found guilty.
A third assault charge came in April 2022, along with a charge of theft of a motor vehicle, for which Honeyman was found guilty and sentenced again.
Court documents indicate Honeyman avoided a prison sentence all three times.
Honeyman is described as 6’3″ tall, 220 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes and is known to have a beard and moustache.
Police say the attached picture is recent.
Initial search efforts by police have failed to locate Honeyman in Nanaimo.
If anyone has information on Honeyman’s location, they’re asked to contact the Nanaimo RCMP at 250 754 2345.
